@m3g1 @m3g1 Actually that is a VERY good question! I wish I mentioned that!!! Ya snow is a very good "white card" for white balance. So? what you would want to do is set your camera to "pre" which is Presets that you can save. On some camera's you can actually set multiple in banks. Hold the WB button until you see the "Pre" blinking. You would then want to point your camera directly on a clean area of snow with no shadows or mystery yellow :). Then shoot like your would to take a photo.

what does the "PRE" ...
what does the "PRE" mean on the white balance? ive heard that when ur shooting snow u should point the camera down to the snow and manually sett the camera white balance? i didnt quite understand what they did or ment.. sorry? about the newbie questions.. didnt see any solution on the WB about outside snow whitebalance? =S

Thanks! This video was very helpful. I learned how to white balance my camera. I have? a Nikon D3100 and I didn't think it was possible for me to be able to white balance. You gave exemplary information. Thanks

I have a decent eye for photography, I shoot raw mostly n I don't use auto ever still my pics don't come out that great as I imagine them to be. I use a NIKON d90? with 18-105 planning to buy a 50 1.4 soon. What am I doing wrong what points to consider for taking great shots in almost every situation. Please make a video to explain if you can thanks.

@Thinkin48 Hum good ...
@Thinkin48 Hum good question.... I haven't played with a D3100 for a while and I don't think I ever did play? with it in video mode... Two things I can suggest is press the "i" button twice I think and that may give you the ability to change it. You may need to set the tabs up in the menu. The other way may be through your Menu mode > Shooting Menu > White balance. The first option would be the easiest and quickest so I'd look into that first. Sorry it must just be different from my D90....

I know what the ...
I know what the white balance is for very well (colour temperature) and I know how to set it up in photography mode... I am just wondering how can I set it up in video mode with Nikon D3100... can you help me??

@thecreatorshandphoto thanks a ton mate..why dont u do more videos on other aspects of? photography? thanks again

@A11550 I only ...
@A11550 I only change the White Balance whenever I go into a new type of lighting. Say from outside to indoors or if one room has florescent lighting and the next room has incandescent or if a room has a mix I will turn my camera on custom Pre and take a wide angle shot of the whole room and let the camera work it out from? there. But once you change your white balance for that room there usually isn't any need to change it again. So its not that often you will change it. Usually just once.

thanks for the ...
thanks for the video mate..i just bought a Nikon D7000. how often should u change it? and i am really troubled sometimes as in how many times do i need to adjust me F-stops and App and WB and ISO n i get confused cause no matter what i do..it seems that auto? clicks better pics than me...plz advise
